President Obama addressed the nation on Monday to explain America holds a responsibility as a global leader to participate in the military operation in Libya. Younus Abdullah Muhammad, chief analyst for IslamPolicy.com says however that Obama essentially said that humanitarian intervention is appropriate if it served the interests of the United States -- no matter what those interests are. He also added that the Arab people in the streets across the region do not need American assistance.
