Balser Honored At Reception By Friends, Associates; Rifle Present Noted

Balser Honored At Reception By Friends, Associates; Rifle Present Noted This past week was so jam-packed with events of all kinds that a very nice piece of video almost slipped by us. Clifton Forge Police Chief, Barry Balser, who officially retired this past Thursday (Feb. 28, 2019) was honored by a resolution from the Clifton Forge Town Council at its meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019. But earlier on Monday, friends, co-workers and well-wishers from around the region, came to the Clifton Forge Firehouse to bid him a formal "goodbye." In truth, he's not going anywhere. He'll soon join the Alleghany County Sheriff's Office as a court bailiff, working with Sheriff's Kevin Hall and many others with whom he's worked for years. Among other gifts, a new rifle was presented to him at a Clifton Forge firehouse reception, courtesy of many friends and associates.
