Authorities are working as quickly as possible to work out who was on board the crashed Ethiopian Airlines flight, Kenya's Cabinet Secretary for Transport told journalists at a press conference in Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi on Sunday.
"The primary source of information has to be the airline itself in consultation with the Ethiopian authorities where the incident happened but to us we shall update you as quickly as possible," the transport secretary said, adding: "We are as anxious as you are to get that information."
It is reported 149 passengers and eight crew members were on board the Boeing 737-800MAX flying from Addis Ababa to Nairobi on Sunday morning when it crashed shortly after take-off near the town of Bishoftu.
