My original 4K BluRay ripping guide was a tad... complicated because the process itself is complicated. BUT there's now an easier way for certain BluRay drive owners to rip 4K UHD BluRays and playing them back with HDR - SDR tonemapping in Plex is now super easy, as well!
(For those who can't watch due to bad Content ID claim blocking, it's on Facebook: and Twitch: )

Problems come as LG WH16NS40 prohibit third-party software to copy, rip, or back up 4K discs. It is annoying, isn’t it? The good new is that some UHD-unfriendly firmware on Blu-ray drive can be downgraded via Leawo UHD Drive Tool to a compatible version for 4K backup, ripping, or playing.
