Saya and Koji are two "extra" hidden characters in the USA/EUR versions of the game on the Evolution disc. They are both unlockable playable characters.
===== HOW TO UNLOCK SAYA & KOJI =====
You unlock 1 extra hidden character each time you beat 1P Game mode. The characters are unlocked in a set order. For Saya, beat the game 8 times; and for Koji, beat the game 3 times.
===== ABOUT THE EXTRA CHARACTERS =====
In the Japanese version of Rival Schools Evolution (Evolution disc), there is a special Simulation Mode in the game where you take on the role of a student and go through one year of the school of your choice. The aim of this mode is to create a new character(s). Throughout the school year, you make decisions on what your student does - your choice of actions will determine what physical abilities (specific basics, specials, supers, team ups, etc. from the regular characters) your character will have when he/she is fully created.
Due to the heavy amount of Japanese text/dialogue that would have to be translated for a Western release, Capcom USA decided to remove the Simulation Mode and instead create 24 readily-made student characters (that would have come from the Simulation Mode) for players to unlock. These characters of course borrow moves from the regular characters.

This is basically a unique version of the vanilla/arcade version of Rival Schools. The game has many extra modes of play and features not found on the Arcade disc. There are also gameplay balance changes too. However it does not have some features of the Arcade disc though, such as the arcade character select screen, versus screens and most notably the dedicated story scenes and dialogues.
