Watching a Medivac from the Spa & an Interesting Last Night on the NCL Breakaway

Watching a Medivac from the Spa & an Interesting Last Night on the NCL Breakaway Our last day on the Norwegian Breakaway is coming to an end… so sad! So we decide to spend it relaxing in the spa. We do have a spa balcony so we need to make the most of that thermal suite on the last day. So we are laying on the nice padded loungers and Jason notices a plane keep flying by and close to our ship. A while later a Coast Guard helicopter shows up. The helipad is located on the bow of the ship which is right in front of the spa! We had never seen a medivac being performed before so we were all a little fascinated. The helicopter hovered and lowered down and Coast Guard medic and a basket… then it flew off. It was gone for about an hour and came back to do the pickup. The ship’s physician came up to the spa to watch the procedure with us but could not tell us what had happened. From our best understanding, it was a crew member who was injured in the galley. We determined this because there was an emergency in the galley just a few hours earlier. It was an interesting experience and we hope whoever it was, that they were ok!

After the spa excitement, we got dressed and went to dinner at Savor. We started our cruise with our first meal at Taste and had not yet been in Savor so we thought this would be the best way to end our adventure. We did call it an early night because I wasn’t feeling well (turned out I had food poisoning) and went back to pack and watch as we sailed into the Mississippi River at night.

This has been an amazing first cruise with Norwegian and definitely will not be our last! We hope you have all enjoyed this vlog series and will stick around for our next adventure!!
