For over 60 years the Leacock Museum has been welcoming visitors to the Old Brewery Bay on the shores of Lake Couchiching. This stately, 19-room summer home represents Stephen Leacock’s lifetime love affair with Orillia, a town he immortalized as the mythical Mariposa in his quintessential best-seller Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town. Built in the 1920s, the home sits proudly on the nearly 10-acre site that gives visitors an amazing look at what life was like back then. The museum and bookstore are open to the general public from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and our Waterfront Bistro is open Wednesday to Friday. Hours do vary. For detailed information on tours, events or exhibits visit or call 705-329-1908. All exhibits are included in the price of admission.
