Come Visit the Leacock Museum and National Historic Site

Come Visit the Leacock Museum and National Historic Site For over 60 years the Leacock Museum has been welcoming visitors to the Old Brewery Bay on the shores of Lake Couchiching. This stately, 19-room summer home represents Stephen Leacock’s lifetime love affair with Orillia, a town he immortalized as the mythical Mariposa in his quintessential best-seller Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town. Built in the 1920s, the home sits proudly on the nearly 10-acre site that gives visitors an amazing look at what life was like back then. The museum and bookstore are open to the general public from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and our Waterfront Bistro is open Wednesday to Friday. Hours do vary. For detailed information on tours, events or exhibits visit or call 705-329-1908. All exhibits are included in the price of admission.
