Five things I would have done differently at university

I'm one of those people who keeps themselves up at night wondering: what if? After many sleepless nights I am now convinced a) that I wouldn't want to go back in time, and b) that if I were to go back to uni there are a few key things I would change.

A note on the first point - my ex and I have talked about this in person, and both agree! Continuing a relationship to university is always a prickly subject, and in my case it definitely would have been better to end it before going to Oxford (as, I was reminded, my girlfriend wanted to do at the time!). Something that I think might not have come across terribly clearly with regards to this point was the lack of balance my life possessed - I'm not blaming my girlfriend for me being miserable at all, it was my attitude towards the relationship (and some of its practicalities) that made me miserable. Knowing that I would be away on the weekend, combined with the fact that I convinced myself that I was the worst person on my course, meant that I worked myself into the ground during the week. If we'd not been together then a) I would have had the flexibility of working in the weekend, and b) I would have developed a healthier support network in Oxford, and felt less isolated. This was something she did in Cambridge, I was just a bit incapable in Oxford! In retrospect I should have dedicated more time in the video to explaining this, and elaborate more on my mental state at uni (which probably deserves a video on its own anyway).
