Time and time again we have seen how the administration of the city gets paralyzed due to the countless tussles between Delhi and the Centre. Services are hindered, women safety and safety of people is compromised and policies do not achieve their maximum potential, while the common man is left wondering whether to approach the state or centre for their concerns. This rule of bureaucracy that exists in Delhi will only change if Delhi becomes a full state and the state government has full jurisdiction over the state police, the Delhi Development Authority and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. To exist in such pseudo-democracy where a government is fairly elected by the people yet is not given the full agency to exercise their power and control to bring the change is neither fair nor democratic. Is it just that with a population of over 1.9 crores who pay over Rs 1.2 lac crores in taxes every year, Delhi receives only Rs 325 crores as Central grant to meet with all its developmental and societal needs? The leaders you chose are constantly fighting to bring the change they promised and for Delhis right to full development, which will only happen when Delhi becomes a full state. Vote for full statehood for Delhi and you'll vote for improved services and safety.
