We presented this Easter sermon series at our church in 2018. It's one of my favorite Easter sermon series we've done so far. This Easter sermon series focused on the 40 days between the resurrection of Jesus and his return to heaven. I talked about some of the encounters the disciples had with Jesus during those 40 days. The primary verse for the series was Acts 1:3, which reads, "After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God." I’d love to hear from you. What ideas have you developed for your Easter sermons? Let me know in the comments. Some of the best ideas come from you, the community of the Equipped!
I created a video where I break down how I crafted one of the sermons I used in this Easter sermon series. The sermon is based on Acts 1:3-8. I'm providing this video as an exclusive behind the scenes look at how I prepared for this sermon. The video is 25 minutes long. In it, I talk about some of the historical, theological and cultural realities that underlie Acts 1:3-8. Knowing this information will help you feel confident as you craft an incredible sermon that will have lasting impact on your listeners! To access this exclusive content, follow this link:
You can check out some of the other videos I've done on this channel. I recommend the teaching series, "The Book of Joel Explained," a passage-by-passage analysis of the book of the prophet Joel. Follow this link to access the playlist with all the teachings:
