Boeing 737 MAX Jets Require Up To 150 Hours Of Work Before Flying Again

Reuters reports that once regulators approve Boeing grounded 737 MAX jets for flight, each aircraft will require between 100 and 150 hours of preparation before flying. This estimate was provided by by American Airlines, United Airlines and Southwest Airlines. In March all Boeing 737 MAX jets were grounded in the wake of two deadly crashes in Ethiopia and Indonesia. The work needed on the jets include a list of items ranging from fluid changes and engine checks to uploading new 737 MAX software. Southwest is the world’s largest MAX operator with 34 jets. All three U.S. airlines using the jets have dozens more on order, meant to service booming air travel demand.
