Drug disposal options in the Tri-State

Drug disposal options in the Tri-State CINCINNATI (WKRC) - The Cincinnati Health Department has partnered with Prevention First to announce that several City of Cincinnati Primary Care health centers will now have prescription drug boxes available to everyone.

A kickoff event for these was held in Northside.

There are now five new boxes at Cincinnati Health Department clinics. People can just stop in when they are open and dispose of medications. People can also get bags mailed to their homes for safe drug disposal.

Tessa Miracle is with Ohio SPF RX. She has a program where you can sign up online to have bags sent to the home or workplace.

"You just simply enter your name, your email and your address, and we will mail a bag for free, but if you are an organization or community coalition that would like to distribute a large number of bags such as 1,000 or 500, Ohio SPF RX Collaborative has an application and we'll send you a bulk supply for you to distribute throughout your city or county," Miracle said.

Anyone with questions about how to receive a bag, call 513-458-6633.
