Day- 10.06.2019, Venue- Nilratan Sircar medical College and hospital, MMD ward. An 85-year-old patient, suffering from heart diseases was brought. Despite doctor's considerable efforts, he had a completely normal death.The physicians in attempting to save him ijected medicines, but his family members thought he was killed with those injections. A chaos started between the doctirs and the family members. They went after that, but after a while, they came in with two lorries filled with 200 people and they attacked doctors and other health workers.With all of the brick, stone, sticks, the hospital becomes the battlefield. Dr. Paribaha Mukherjee and Dr. Yash Tekwani were attacked with bricks. More interns and medical students were injured. Dr Paribaha Mukherjee was taken to the Institute of Neuroscience.He suffered a depressed fracture at the frontal bone of his skull. Therefore he continues to suffer from numerous seizures. After spreading the news of this incident, the students and doctors of all the medical colleges were agitated.Because this is not the first incident of doctor bashing. In the last one and a half years, there were about 230 cases of doctor bashings. Earlier, in 2017, tension spread over a middle-aged man's death in Kakuragachi, 67 years old Dr. J P Agarwal was beaten up.In the same year, doctor of Debrah Hospital,Dr.Rajat Mandal referred a critical case of pregnancy to a higher hospital and for this, faeces was applied over his face and mouth . In 2018, Dr.Keya Bagchi was beaten because a pregnant woman gave birth to a dead child .On the charge of why the ambulance is not present, the doctor was beaten in Purulia. In a hospital in Murshidabad, a gun was held at the nurse and she was said to make an i.v channel in the very first attempt.In June 2019, Dr. Amitav Mondal, was brought to the house by the complainant, accussing of a child death due to wrong treatment. Death Certificate is written under threat. These are just some of the events, there are many such other incidents.
