In this Tally ERP 9 Tutorial, we will learn that how you can configure that either Tally should automatically select and load a default company or not. The default behavior of Tally is to load the very first company by default when you run the application and that company will also have a number (10000 - which you can see in the Select Company list) and will always select and load company having number 10000 by default. So, you might be managing accounts of various companies and you don't want to load this or any company by default and want to see the Company Info. screen from where you want to Select a particular company from the list or you might want to load any other company by default when the application starts. Tally store all the Configuration settings in Tally.ini file, which you can locate in the folder where application is installed. You can configure the Default Company options through this file by changing the values of:
Default Companies=Yes
If you set this option to No then Tally will always show the Company Info. screen at start-up.
If you set this option to Yes then Tally will load the company specified in the Load section with a number.
Load=10000 (Company Number)
You can change this number to the company number that you want to load by default, if the Default Companies option is set to Yes. If Default Companies is set to No then this Load option bears no value.
