Jackie Chan pleads ignorance on Hong Kong protests as he promotes new album

Jackie Chan pleads ignorance on Hong Kong protests as he promotes new album Action star Jackie Chan has launched his new album “I Am Me” in Taiwan.

According to local media, he said he doesn’t know anything about the mass protest in Hong Kong, where thousands of people took to the street to demonstrate against a proposed extradition bill.

This is not the first time Chan has sparked controversy with his statements on politics.

In 2012, he said that Hong Kong had become a city of protest, and that there should be regulations on what can and cannot be protested.

In 2009 the actor said that he wasn’t sure “if it's good to have freedom or not” and that he was "beginning to feel that we Chinese need to be controlled."
