Prince Harry once claimed he would never cross 'narrow line' from royal to celebrity

Prince Harry once claimed he would never cross 'narrow line' from royal to celebrity Angela Levin revealed the Prince once told her he believed there was a difference between being a celebrity and a royal and that he did not want to cross the line. His newly emerged comments come as the Duke of Sussex has been thrown into the celebrity limelight after marrying former TV star Meghan Markle last year, with many branding the pair a celebrity couple. Last year's Royal Wedding in May saw a cast list of celebrity guests attend the ceremony at Windsor Castle, as Meghan invited well known American producer Lindsay Roth, Indian actress Priyanka Chopra and a string of Suits co-stars including Patrick J. Adams and Rick Hoffman.  Speaking to Yahoo UK’s The Royal Box, Ms Levin, author of Harry: Conversations With the Prince, revealed how the Duke of Sussex told her he would "never, ever become a celebrity", although was before he met his now-wife Meghan Markle. Ms Levin said: “Prince Harry said to me that there is a big difference between being a show business celebrity and being a royal. “A show business celebrity is someone who is acknowledged for something they’ve done, a talent they’ve had. "A royal has to be steeped in duty and looking to look after things for the Queen. “And he said ‘I will never, ever become a celebrity, there’s a narrow line, but I never want to cross it’.”   However, Ms Levin argued Harry had now crossed that line since getting engaged to the American actress. She claimed the Prince had compromised after falling in love with Meghan Markle. Prince Harry has previously been photographed with a string of celebrities, including Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin and England football legend David Beckham. He is also good friends with Ellie Goulding, who performed at Prince Wiliam’s wedding to Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge in 2011.  Meghan and Harry welcomed their first child on May 6, just days before their one year wedding anniversary, and the Duchess of Sussex made her first public appearance while on maternity leave at Trooping the Colour earlier this month. Footage from the event, marking the Queen's official birthday, appeared to show the Duchess being told off by her husband for turning around during their appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony. But Ms Levin argued Harry’s Trooping the Colour appearance could show that he has become disengaged with the Royal Family.    The royal biographer claimed the Duke may be changing to lead a more independent life with new partner Meghan away from the restrictions of the Royal Family. The Duke was photographed at the back of the group, behind other senior royals such as Prince Charles and Prince Andrew. Ms Levin said: “The way Harry was on the balcony, right at the back, he’d sort of disengaged himself and I wonder whether that was the beginning of a change that he would want to leave the royals more.”  Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were absent from Royal Ascot yesterday, while other royals including Kate, Prince William, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice joi
