Parliment live Updates: 2 August 2019

In today’s Lok Sabha sessions, Jailianwala Bagh, Dam Safety Bill and Airport Authority Amendment Bill will be introduced. In the Rajya Sabha, UAPA Bill, Wage Bill, and Reipili Bills will be presented. On the implementation of the paperless policy in the Parliament, the strong Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla called on him to cooperate with all the members on Thursday for achieving the paperless goal of the Parliament for the second consecutive day. He told the members to adopt digital technology. Taking this issue during the Zero Hour, the Speaker told the MPs that the process will be started on an ‘alternative basis’ from the next session. He said that this will reduce the cost of printing on paper by Parliament, as well as a step forward in preventing the harvesting of trees. Birla said, “It’s time to adopt digital documents rather than use paper in Parliament Because millions of rupees are being spent on paper printing. Our priority should be to save as much money from the Parliament. By reducing the use of paper, we can reduce the number of trees to prevent bites.
