Unless you're under 10% body fat, the likeliness of losing muscle when dieting is low - as long as protein intake is sufficient, and you keep training hard.

Just because you can look and feel smaller in clothes, and not see much of a difference in your physique, and also lose strength, it doesn't mean you've lost any muscle at all.
