Virginia Department of Health said a Newport News restaurant worker tested positive for Hepatitis A Health officials said a food handler at Kebab House at 980 J Clyde Morris Blvd and the Sunrise Pizzeria located at 10158 Jefferson Ave in Newport News recently was diagnosed with Hepatitis A. Hepatitis A is a virus that causes inflammation of the liver. It can be spread by direct contact with another person who has the infection, by consuming contaminated food or drink, or by touching surfaces that have been contaminated with the virus.
