The Gauri festival is also referred to as the Gauri Ganesha or the Gowri Habba in Karnataka.This festival is mainly dedicated to all the married women. The Gauri festival is celebrated on Bhadrapada Shuddha Tritiya in accordance to the Hindu calendar.

శక్తికి మూలమైన దేవత గౌరీ దేవి.. అందుకే మంగళకరం, మంగళప్రదానికి సంకేతంగా గౌరీదేవిని పూజిస్తారు. గౌరీ పండుగను భారతదేశంలోని అనేక ప్రాంతాల్లో జరుపుకుంటారు. గౌరీ గణేష్, గౌరీ చౌతి లేదా గౌరీ పండుగ అని పిలువబడే ఈ పండుగను గణేశ చతుర్థి సందర్భంగా జరుపుకుంటారు. ఈ పండుగ వివాహిత మహిళలకు అంకితం చేయబడింది. హిందూ క్యాలెండర్ ప్రకారం, గౌరీ పండుగను స్వచ్ఛమైన తృతీయ రోజున జరుపుకుంటారు. గౌరీ పండుగ మరుసటి రోజు, భద్రాపాద శుద్ద చతుర్థి రోజు నుండి గణేశ చతుర్థి పండుగ పర్వదినాలు ప్రారంభమవుతాయి. సౌభాగ్యాలను ప్రసాధించే గౌరీ పండుగను వివాహిత మహిళలలకు జరుపుకుంటారు, గౌరీ దేవిని ఆరాధించడం వల్ల సుఖ, సంతోషాలతో పాటు ఆనందం, సంపద మరియు సుదీర్ఘ జీవితాన్ని ఇస్తుందని మరియు తన భర్తను ఆయుష్యును పెంచి ఆశీర్వదిస్తుందని అంటారు. గౌరీ పండుగ వరమహాలక్ష్మి వ్రత మాదిరిగానే ఉంటుంది. తేడా ఏమిటంటే లక్ష్మి స్థానంలో గౌరీదేవిని పూజిస్తారు.
