Shooting Portraits on the Canon 24-105mm f|4 EF Lens & EOS R (Photo Lens Review)

What's your favorite portrait lens? Probably not the Canon 24-105mm f/4 EF lens, BUT this week we're taking out the zoom lens to try it out for some portrait photo samples on our Canon EOS R. How does it hold up against the the old standards like the 85mm f/1.2 or the 135mm f/2 portrait lenses?

If you're looking how to shoot portraits at the beach, we took the Canon 24-104 f/4 L lens out to shoot our photo samples at sunset. We use the Profoto B1X strobes with the Air Remote on our Canon EOS R mirrorless camera. Shooting portraits on the Canon 24-105mm lens was actually a fun challenge, and the bokeh wasn't too shabby. What do you think is the best portrait lens? After seeing the portrait sample photos, is the 24 105 a contender?

Shooting 24-105 Portrait Photography is a little different than a typical portrait lens where you can achieve shallow depth more easily. But distancing ourselves from the model gave us some more depth and helped us achieve the look we wanted with the Canon EOS R.
