Thousands Of Parisian Children May Have Been Exposed To Toxic Airborne Lead

In April, the 800-year-old wooden beams supporting the roof of Paris' Notre-Dame Cathedral caught fire.
Before firefighters could put out the fire, flames eventually consumed the building's iconic spire.
According to Business Insider, the cathedral sits on the Île de la Cité, in close proximity to schools and parks.
An investigation has found the smoke from the fire scattered dust containing 460 tons of lead across the central city.
It's thought that up to 6,000 children under the age of 6 were exposed to unsafe levels of toxic chemicals.
