Just within 3 months of the launch of the much-hyped Oneplus 7 and 7 Pro, here we are ready for the new flagships. But this time, I feel that the Oneplus 7t will make a lot more sense than the Oneplus 7T pro. Here are the reasons why.
To understand why I say that the Oneplus 7T would be far better than the 7T pro, we need to look at the Oneplus 7 and 7 Pro. That's because the T line-ups from Oneplus have very incremental updates from the regular line-up that they launch in March. The 7T and 7T pro is no different, with the updated Snapdragon 855+ processor, and slightly different camera design. Now compare the 7 and 7 Pro, there were 3 distinctive advantages for the 7 Pro over the 7 for its higher price tag.
1. The design,
2. The higher refresh rate screen
3. and finally the camera
The Oneplus 7T and 7T Pro are going to retain the design of the Oneplus 7 and Oneplus 7 Pro, with minor changes in the back camera layout. In my personal opinion, this would actually mean that the Oneplus 7T is better than the pro model because there are no curved edges and there are no moving parts in the 7T and it's going to be far more durable than the 7T Pro. So, design-wise, unless you absolutely want the fully bezel-less display and ready to give up on durability, then the Oneplus 7T is far better there.
Rumors have suggested that the Oneplus 7T would have the 90 Hz refresh rate screen along with the 7T pro. This is a much-anticipated move but takes away yet another important distinction from the Oneplus 7T pro.
Now, coming to the camera, as per the official tweet from Oneplus CEO Pete Lau, the Oneplus 7T will have a triple back camera with ultra-wide and 2 times telephoto lens. The only upper hand that the Oneplus 7T pro has above the 7T's camera is the 3 times telephoto lens. But anyways, the camera was never the strong point of Oneplus phones and if I had the budget for Oneplus 7T pro and wanted the best in class camera, I would rather go ahead with phones like the Pixel 3a or the Galaxy S10e.
So, let's do the wind up: The Oneplus 7T is going to be priced somewhere around 35000 Rs, which will be later released in the European Union for an equivalent of $500 to $550 US dollars. The Oneplus 7T pro, on the other hand, is rumored to be priced at the same price of the Oneplus 7 pro at around 53000 rupees in India and around 750 to 800 dollars in the European Union. As explained earlier, the distinctive advantages that the Oneplus 7 pro had over the 7 are diminished in the 7T pro and 7T, but the 7T pro still does have certain advantages like a 3 times telephoto camera, a slightly larger battery and a variant with more RAM and storage. That makes the Oneplus 7T an extremely compelling and amazing option. But are the advantages that the 7T pro has over the 7T worth the extra 15000 rupees?
