Capoeira Teachers: How To Retain Students

This video is for Capoeira teachers, instructors, coaches, group and club leaders, or helpers. Why do students keep quitting?

Is it you? Probably not. It's probably your processes. I'll start with some basics... but first let me divide it into 2 groups. Capoeira club leaders and actual Capoeira group builders.

Capoeira club leaders have way less responsibility and have the chips stacked against them big time. Its hard to build a school in a revolving attendance model. Students will graduate and move away almost every year.. plus these students are spending most of their time studying working drinking or chasing chicks.

The only advice I have for them is to build community with monthly or weekly member events line get togethers and outings.

The rest of the advice I have is for Capoeira group builders or studio owners.

Capoeira Club:
1.Make it a social experience
2. Have monthly social gatherings like outtings, events, parties, etc.
3. That's pretty much it for you guys...(too many restricting factors)

Capoeira Group/studio owners:
1.Be professional:start on time end on time
2. Don't sleep with your all your clients
3. Charge more
4.Have an organized curricullum
5. Sell a program not monthly classes
6.Do authomatic billing
7. Teach life skills with kids class( check out Michael Massey)
8. Reach out every Wed. for students who miss class
9. Talk to everyone on your roster at least every 14 days
10. Systematize it, don't automate it
11. Monthly events: parties, outtings, etc.
