Introduction to denominators in a fraction using paper folding

Introduction to denominators in a fraction using paper folding Using strips of paper the idea of a denominator in a fraction is introduced. A piece of paper is folded first in half prouding two equal parts which helps define the denominator as 2. The process is repeated for the same size strip being folded into four equal parts and eventually into three equal parts. The sizes of the unit fractions are also compared side by side.
