Aliexpress dropshipping is so much different than what it used to be from 5 years ago. Dropshipping has gotten harder and harder as the years has passed.
Competition has risen on the platform as many resellers have been using aliexpress to dropship their products to their customers. The platform is literally the main source where everyone dropshipper goes to find winning products.
The real and legit reason why aliexpress dropshipping business will collapse is because of the current US president. The united states has been in negotiation with over 130 countries from around the world. China being the main one.
The united postal union has decided not to withdraw from the union but the US has now the freedom of setting their own rates for shipping. This will effect the epacket shipping method specifically.
This is a big win for the United States as a whole but for dropshippers this is a DEVASTATING defeat. Shipping prices will now go up and profit be hugely cut, scammers on the various platform like Amazon, Ebay, and Aliexpress will be out of business soon, and Oberlo fulfillment app will be greatly affected as well.
Now what do we have to do? We have to take this dropshipping business model more seriously...
Branding, marketing, social medias, advertising, and store will have to taken to the next level so that our customers can trust our products. We would have to think long term and begin drop shipping domestically. Ordering samples and buying in bulk on alibaba will be a more stable way to source products. Getting a resellers permit and selling with US vendors will be another viable way to dropshipping products as big brands like Fashion nova and Zappos has done successfully.
We need to do more of what has been working and stop replicating what is making us gonowheree but being on the same level as before.
