Isn't it exasperating when people insist on holding silly, logically inconsistent, or thoroughly-debunked beliefs? Especially since they may base decisions on those ill-founded beliefs that can do harm to themselves or others? How can you make them listen to reason? This talk will address some of the reasons humans can be so resistant to changing their minds in the face of conflicting evidence, what approaches seem useful but aren't, and what approaches are more likely to change minds.
