HO Scale RAW: Action at the Enterprise/Excelsior Complex

HO Scale RAW: Action at the Enterprise/Excelsior Complex Filmed: 03/09/19

Hopefully this will be the last of these "RAW" videos. Should be getting the computer back this coming week. In the mean time, I filmed a little bit of action at the club Saturday. There's actually three in this one, two trains plus a light engine move in the KCE Excelsior yard in the foreground. Basically, I filmed from the Excelsior facility, looking into the UP Enterprise facility with the mainlines running between the two.

The first train belongs to Bill, who is our club's Vice Pres. Second train belongs to Mike, then the KCE GP30-3s are mine. It's not as easy to do a one take shot trying to get three moves in one as it appears. It took about an hour to get this and even then, I had to pause the record on the phone, otherwise there would have been a 4 or 5 minute pause in the action.

Not sure how well it'll show, but it's somewhere between when Bill's UP/SP train clears on main 2, and when Mike's GM&O starts moving on main 3. The reason Mike had to stop was that his line was blocked by Bill's train crossing over main 3 as he was pulling his train into the staging yards which blocks main 3.

I believe there was also a switch not thrown properly and it caused the first 2 or 3 locos of Bill's to derail. That caused this portion of the layout to short out. So once that problem was corrected, Bill was able to get his train clear and Mike was finally able to move. Of course these things ONLY happen when the cameras are rolling. Stupid Murphy and his stupid law...

But yeah, whether I get my comp back in time to do Wednesday's video or not, I still have one more phone cam railfanning video to post. So that will be Wednesday, then hopefully I can start posting the three N scale Ops Session videos, which should have actually started today.

Computers...

Anyway, that's it for now, lots more to come. Thanks for watching and see you next time!
