Poorest countries most affected by extreme weather, but they “did not do anything to create it” “Mozambique did not create this climate crisis,” say climate activist Dipti Bhatnagar of the warming ocean temperatures that fueled Cyclone Idai, the worst weather disaster in the history of the Southern Hemisphere. “This is the irony of the climate crisis. It affects those who did not do anything to create it. ... The poorest and the most vulnerable people on the planet will be affected most.”
