How will this weather setup Scenario play out:
A Very strong, deep upper level trough or Long wave trough will move into the Dessert SW on Tuesday bring Moderate rain & High Elevation Snow. Rain amounts of 0.50 to 1.5 inches are likely with gusty winds. From there a Thermal Low of 995 millibars is still on track to race Northward during the day Tuesday, The Surface low does not look to rapidly deepen just yet. On Wednesday the same surface low that sits over eastern Colorado will then begin to undergo Cyclogenesis or pressure bombing. The Pressure will likely drop 30 to 40 millibars in about 24 hours with a pressure drop of 20 millibars in 20 hours, this is what will suddenly intensify the very heavy snow across the High plains. Blizzard warnings just got issued right after this upload. Snow accumulations of 18 to 24 inches looking likely across SW South Dakota and Center Southern South Dakota, 12 to 18 inches across Western & Northwestern Nebraska and 6 to 12 inches likely for Eastern North Dakota. Southeastern Half of Wyoming could have snow amounts topping 3 feet. Strong Damaging winds with gusts 60 to 80 mph are a possibility with higher elevations such as the Guadalupe mountains in New Mexico to see gusts 120 mph, Winds this strong will cause widespread blowing dust and sand across the desserts, reducing visibility to around 0.25 miles at times. Rain accumulations of 2 to 4 inches across a Corridor from NW Arkansas stretching NE to Western Kentucky, Flooding is expected and could be severe. This is a very Dangerous possibly deadly winter storm and could rank the strongest since 1993. Storm of the Century so called. Please listen to your local officials and local authorities as this will cause big concerns. I may have a live discussion on this before I leave for a job meeting tomorrow, so stay tuned.
