Moscow: What caused the Aeroflot Sukhoi Superjet 100 to crash? | DW News Russian authorities have said that 41 people have died in an Aeroflot plane crash at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport on Sunday evening. The Aeroflot Aeroflot Sukhoi Superjet 100 was on route to the northern city of Murmansk when the pilot reported technical problems and turned back. The plane caught fire during the emergency landing; flames engulfed the entire rear section before the aircraft came to a standstill. DW's Emily Sherwin discusses some of the possible causes inspectors are looking into.
