Septic tank kept clear liquid and odor free with aerator and bacteria

Septic tank kept clear liquid and odor free with aerator and bacteria About 20 years ago I had terrible problems with a leech field that was choked with solids from an overflowing septic tank that flooded the leech field with solids. I had already added more leech field in the limited space available but it still would not drain out of the tank and needed to be pumped frequently as solids built up and threatened to clog the leech field more. I started doing research and learned a lot more about how a leech field and septic tank are designed to work than I expected. The septic pumping company, the only experts I knew of, would come and pump the tank for anywhere from $600 to $1000 about every 3 years and assured me that I must keep up that schedule and expense.

Then I discovered that it is possible and much better to have the solids become digested in the septic tank and only water filled with live bacteria flowing out into the leech field which will continue to digest the solids in the leech field wherever they go. Septic Genie was the first company I discovered who sold a system to accomplish this, so I put in the system they designed and have never pumped it since then and simply drop in a bacteria tablet each year as a proactive approach.

I have found more and more companies offering systems and have installed a few aerator aerobic digesting air pump systems on other properties since then, with identical results.

It is a shame that the county and state don't require the whole septic industry to make these low cost aerator pumps a standard feature for all septic systems.

PS Ooops, I thought video was running for a few minutes while I spoke about the system but apparently it shut off after 4 seconds and then I closed up the tank again before I realized it.
