While a lot of New England Patriots fans are still mourning the loss of Rob Gronkowski, and we're all thinking about the acrobatic catches, the pure strength as he through Defenders off of him, and the Gronk spikes in the endzone, it's also making a lot of us take pause and look at the Patriots current tight end situation and wonder what exactly are the Patriots going to do. But, there is an even bigger piece at play here, yes the Patriots are losing Gronkowski and all of his ability in the passing game, but they're also missing out on his absolute stunning ability in the run game. And on the other side of the field the Patriots also lost Dwayne Allen who may not have lived up to the expectations of a lot of patriot fans but the Patriots lost one of the best blocking tight ends in the NFL. When I look at guys like Ben Watson and Matt lacosse I just don't see either of them being able to fill those roles, they may be able to get out there and make the catches for Brady but when it comes to the blocking game the offensive line now seems just a little bit thin. The Bill Belichick pick up an undrafted free agents in Andrew Beck, could just be the answer that the Patriots were looking for in the blocking game. Now of course I haven't forgotten about Ryan Izzo but this blog is based on back so we'll just talk about what he could bring to the Patriots, and really that's just his ability and strengthening up the offensive line.
