Arduino Mega Introduction to Diversion Load Controller

Arduino Mega Introduction to Diversion Load Controller This is an Arduino Mega kit. I plan to use it as a diversion load controller. This is just a quick introduction video. I still need to learn the programming. I hope to use this to control multiple diversion loads all automatically.

I'm working on becoming off-grid. This means I have solar panels, batteries, and inverters. I have found the batteries to be the most expensive part of the system. I'm fascinated with the idea of diversion loads. Instead of buying more batteries, I can use surplus energy other ways. The greatest example of this is a hot water tank for DHW (domestic hot water). But space heating, and cooling are two other great examples. On my site I have two buildings (house and garage) which adds another level of complexity to diversion loads.

Yes, some diversion loads can be controlled very simply. But as you add more layers of complexity the need for a micro-controller or computer, becomes greater. I'm not good with programming, but it's something I want to learn.
